Great pictures! How did you manage to get the one of all of you at the end?! I'd love to be able to get more pics of all four of us!
Do your girls call it Yule or Christmas? Since we've only been celebrating Solstice the last few years we still refer to our tree as a Christmas tree. Solstice is Solstice and Christmas is Christmas yet the tree remains a "Christmas" tree! I am, toying with the idea of making the Solstice Tree topper that Rhythm of the Home had in it's newest issue and putting that up for Solstice and then the angel for Christmas. :)
Shel- I set the 10 second camera timer and then hopped in the picture for the group one :o)
The girls use Yule and Christmas tree interchangeably. In the last few years we've started celebrating Solstice and the Yule season, so I usually call it a Yule tree. We celebrate Christmas with our family on both sides, as well. I'm in the process of streamlining my labels/tags on here, but if you click on "Solstice and Yule" tag in the sidebar, you can see some of the things we've done in the last few years (Solstice cake, Yule log, advent calendar/activities, ice ornaments, etc). :o)
Oh, these are gorgeous photos — what a great tree, and I love your ornaments! We just had a Grandma visit, too, and she helped decorate our tree. Your kids look so adorable.
Once again I say, we are living like the same exact life! :) We've been celebrating Solstice for like three years now and just adore it. We've done the Solstice cake, Yule log, Advent calendar stuff too. Solstice for us is about making gifts for the birds and woodland creatures and we've left Christmas as the "giving gifts to humans" holiday! :) And in all honesty I think that I actually enjoy Solstice more than Christmas (no offense to Christmas, of course)! The simplicity of it all just speaks to my soul! It's a good balance I think and since both sides of the family celebrate Christmas only it makes sense that it remains.

Love your tree! Your girls are so beautiful. This is my favorite time of year. I love to look at the lights on Christmas trees from outside.
